As Zambia joins the global community in commemorating the 2025 16 Days of Activism starting today, under the theme “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” the spotlight turns to the urgent need for safer online environments.
Digital violence, ranging from cyberbullying and harassment to exploitation and the misuse of personal information, continues to silence and harm women and girls across all platforms.
Empowering women online means ensuring they can participate freely, confidently, and without fear. This moment calls on government, communities, and digital actors to work together in creating inclusive, respectful, and protective digital spaces that uphold the rights, dignity, and safety of every woman and girl.
