Rhythm and News 2.0!
A creative civic engagement platform that blends rap, journalism, and community dialogue to amplify the voices of marginalized women and youth in Zambia.
Implemented by PAAGZ, with support from Brot für die Welt (BfTW) the program transforms news, policy issues, and community concerns into powerful rap performances and visual storytelling.
Young people break down pressing social, economic, and political issues, making governance conversations accessible, relatable, and inclusive. The platform encourages open dialogue between citizens and duty bearers, promotes accountability, and strengthens participation in decision-making at local levels.
Rhythm and News 2.0 creates a safe and expressive space for advocacy, awareness, and action, using art as a tool to challenge systemic exclusion and rebuild citizen agency.![]()
This is more than music. It’s news with purpose. It’s voices in rhythm. It’s accountability in action.
